Pleural Effusion
Expert diagnosis and treatment of pleural effusions using advanced VATS techniques
About Pleural Effusion
VATS assessment is the investigation of choice in exudative pleural effusions where a diagnostic pleural aspiration is inconclusive and malignancy or tuberculosis is suspected. Positive diagnosis relies on direct sampling of the pleural fluid and on pleural biopsies with either a closed technique or a video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) procedure.
